Bruh! Unfortunately, weed is illegal in Texas.
Overview
In Texas, United States, the legality of cannabis is quite restrictive. Medical cannabis is only legal for patients with intractable epilepsy, and the cannabis used must contain low levels of THC, the psychoactive component of the plant. Recreational use of cannabis, on the other hand, is completely illegal. Possession of even small amounts can lead to significant criminal penalties, including jail time. Against the states wishes, some counties and cities in Texas have chosen to decriminalize small amounts of cannabis, stopping arrests and fines for low-level cannabis possession.
When it comes to related substances such as Delta 8, Delta 9, THCA, and CBD, the laws are a bit more complex. Delta 8 and Delta 9 are forms of THC and are therefore subject to the same restrictions as other forms of cannabis. THCA, a non-psychoactive precursor to THC, is also illegal. CBD, however, is legal in Texas as long as it contains less than 0.3% THC. This has led to a booming industry of CBD products in the state.
